NJII Sits on TechLaunch BullPen 21 Panel

This past week was TechLaunch’s Bullpen 2021 program. The Bullpen is a part of TechLaunch’s Business Accelerator program intended for seed stage entrepreneurs to present their startup companies to a highly qualified panel. The panel included CEO and founder of Board++, David Stengle, CEO and founder of WAVERWORK, Jessica Gaffney, General Manager of Entrepreneurship of NJ Innovation Institute, Will Lutz, and Managing Director of JumpStart NJ, Sharon Waters.

The BullPen took place virtually this year and featured 3 business accelerator finalists who competed for $15,000 in professional serviced from TechLaunch’s elite band on New Jersey-based event partners as well as a pitching spot for Jumpstart NJ Angel Network and Tech Council Ventures.

This year’s winner was a virtual nightclub app, TheClub. The company was founded in 2020 amidst the pandemic to allow people to still have the ‘party experience’ they were no longer able to have. TheClub is an interactive live streaming app for music lovers and DJs. The platform allows music lovers to find the right DJ for them and allows DJ to better engage and monetize their audiences. On their app you’ll find amazing DJs from across the world, customized sets, and interactive audiences.

TechLaunch founder and Managing Director, Mario Casabona was excited to see this year’s competitors and was impressed by the talent shown this year. Founder and CEO of TheClub, Darrel Frater said, “the feedback provided by the judges during the competition was absolutely phenomenal.”
